Insurance. Just about everything in life can be insured! I once read that when price can be assigned to something, that “something” could be insured!

We insure our cars against thievery, damages, bad weather, fire and crashes. Our residences are covered against brake-ins, water damage, fire damage and structural damage. We sign up for insurance on our own lives for when we are not capable to work any longer or to look after our loved ones when we’re no longer there. There’s also medical insurance policies that can cover our medication charges, dentist costs as well as hospital visits. If we are our own bosses and we have our own workplaces we are able to sign up for business insurance coverage to cover us in the event that virtually anything goes wrong. We can also take out insurance cover for our animals in the form of a furry friend medical aid!

Have you ever stopped to think how much fun life could be if insurance companies were truly able to offer insurance on EVERYTHING? I’d like to recommend the following insurance coverage:

The “I am getting fat policy” – All of us all gain a number of unwelcome kilograms at some stage or another. There’s always a good reason to celebrate, from anniversaries and weddings to birthday celebrations, christenings, housewarmings and the extremely popular “hey, it’s Wednesday” celebrations! By leading such jolly lifestyles we regrettably have a tendency to expand width wise sooner or later! For that reason I would like to be able to put in an insurance claim against my excess fat! This claim should be able to take care of the trolley load full of fresh fruit and vegetables I need for my new diet, the stylish new clothing the moment I am back to my perfect weight… and naturally a couple of very expensive weight loss and lumpy skin remedies at a fat loss clinic!

Next, there would be the “I don’t feel like going to work insurance policy” – Why don’t we be frank, all of us have times when we just really don’t feel like getting up and sitting in traffic in order to go to the office. This policy really should be fairly comprehensive because it will not only need to cover the temp worker who will have the capacity to do my work at short notice, but also the full body therapeutic massage and mud bath which i will simply have to pamper myself with at a elegant health spa – this really is off course part of the de-stressing strategy to get me back to work and is basically to my boss’s advantage. Insurance companies, please take note, this policy has to be taken out by employers, not staff!

Finally, there could be the “I told you not to do that” policy – This insurance policy includes a baseball bat and an ice pack. The next time someone pulls in front of you on a motorway, talks on their cellphones in the cinema or smoke a cigarette in a non-smoking area you’ll be able to give him/her a big whack using the baseball bat, hand them the ice pack and contact your insurance company to sort out the rest of their medical expenses.

What would life be without insurance? Don’t you think life will be a lot more entertaining that way? But goodness, just imagine how high our month to month payments to insurance companies would be…
